1. Write Keyword rich titles

Titles matter. Without a keyword rich title—regardless of the type of content you’re creating—you won’t get much traffic, clicks, or conversions from your content. Improving your titles can not only improve your click-through rates but it’s also a way to help your brand stand out from the competition. 

Here are a few ways to think about improving your titles: 

  1. Try to include your root keyword in your title
  2. Be as specific as possible 
  3. Include numbers in your headlines if relevant
  4. Use power words when possible

If you’re having trouble coming up with a compelling blog title, Google to look for inspiration. Let’s say we search for “how to start a blog post.”

2. Improve your technical SEO

Technical SEO is the foundation on which your website is built. If your foundation isn’t up to standard, it’s going to diminish the ROI of any other on-page or off-page SEO efforts. 

  • Install SSL secure certificate
  • Avoid duplicate content
  • Add structured data markup to your site
  • Improve your URL structure
  • Claim your Google Search Console

If you aren’t technical, don’t overlook the technical needs of your website. Outsource this task if necessary to ensure the best results and secure higher positions on results pages. 

3. Get more backlinks

After site content, backlinks are the second most important SEO factor.

The more backlinks your website has, the better Google will rank your content because it sees your site as being popular. There are lots many ways to acquire backlinks, each with different levels of success depending on the context. 

You can either try to build backlinks yourself, or you can opt to hire an SEO expert or company. Getting links from bloggers via guest article posts is the most popular way of link building. It is also the most safest as many of the older techniques would help your SEO. For example, do not bother posting links blog comments, forums and many of the social media sites as they usually have a NOFOLLOW tag, which tells google to ignore the link.

However, try not to buy links. The more natural links Google detects pointing to your website, the better. 

4. Be active on social media

Activity on social media is small factor in SEO. Mainly it tells Google, that you exits and you run a legit site. Create social profiles on major social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn for your company and place their logo links on your website. Not only these provide trust to the search engines, but also to your site visitors and shows that you are not a small company or a startup. Be active on your social media and post interesting content, as some of these posts may also result in backlinks to your website if they go viral or if people start talking about them.

5. Optimize your images & use alt tags

Images are critical to site design. It is important to optimize your images so that your pages load quickly.

There are various tools to optimize images. Not only you can try to save in a smaller format when you create it, but also there tools for WordPress or web tools that would allow you to optimize your existing website images.

Additionally, make sure to use ALT tags with your images, with keyword rich file names. These may result in your images getting ranked in Google images and may bring you more traffic.
